Robert the Budding Nature Photographer

We took yet another trip to the "Sea Lion House" this weekend. As this was Baby Claire's first trip there, Robert decided to document the trip himself. Starting with taking a picture of a stuffed fox:

Baby Claire seemed unimpressed.

Robert wanted to take pictures of just about everything he saw.

Including the Killer Whale mural. "They no bite me."

Robert was a little put off by the King Crab. Well, we all know how he feels about crab legs...

Robert was very eager to show Baby Claire the Sea Lions and take pictures of this important event.

Exploring the salt marsh underwater exhibit:
And checking out one of his favorites, the flounders. With all of the cool things at the aquarium, leave it to Robert to love the dull brown plat fish that blend in to the sand.
Here is Robert not touching the touch tank.

And Baby Claire oblivious to the coral reef.

She was also oblivious to the giant sea turtle that hovered over her for a while:

Robert did (finally!) stick one finger into the Sting Ray touch tank. Not near any Sting Rays, mind you, just into the water...
... and immediately went to wash that one finger:

But even though he won't touch, Roebrt does find the exhibits fascinating to look at.
Baby Claire, however, never knew we even left the house.

It's really the Town of Brookhaven's Ecology Center and Animal Preserve in Holtsville. We love that place and go there a lot when the weather is nice. Robert calls it "Peacock House" because he has a strange obsession with peacocks. (apparently our house is infested with them!) Yeah, that's the Rivehead auqarium (he calls it "Sea Lion House"). They still let you touch stuff, but he refuses to do so. We have a membership there because it's another place we like to go a lot. :)
