Robert the Budding Nature Photographer

We took yet another trip to the "Sea Lion House" this weekend. As this was Baby Claire's first trip there, Robert decided to document the trip himself. Starting with taking a picture of a stuffed fox:

Baby Claire seemed unimpressed.

Robert wanted to take pictures of just about everything he saw.

Including the Killer Whale mural. "They no bite me."

Robert was a little put off by the King Crab. Well, we all know how he feels about crab legs...

Robert was very eager to show Baby Claire the Sea Lions and take pictures of this important event.

Exploring the salt marsh underwater exhibit:
And checking out one of his favorites, the flounders. With all of the cool things at the aquarium, leave it to Robert to love the dull brown plat fish that blend in to the sand.
Here is Robert not touching the touch tank.

And Baby Claire oblivious to the coral reef.

She was also oblivious to the giant sea turtle that hovered over her for a while:

Robert did (finally!) stick one finger into the Sting Ray touch tank. Not near any Sting Rays, mind you, just into the water...
... and immediately went to wash that one finger:

But even though he won't touch, Roebrt does find the exhibits fascinating to look at.
Baby Claire, however, never knew we even left the house.

Surprise! A Trip To The Aquarium!

We've gotten so much out of our Atlantis Marine World membership over the past year, it was a no-brainer to re-up for 2008. So one nice Saturday a few weeks ago...

"Look! Seal!"

"And more seal!"

The sea lion window was crowded, so we went upstairs to see them in person instead.

Then Robert and I did a little archaeological dig:

And Robert stared down a snow monkey.

Robert ventured over to the touch tank, or as he likes to call it, the ain't-no-way-I'm-touching-that tank.

Back in Ray Bay, Daddy showed Robert how you can touch the rays.

So Robert tried it:

And immediately needed to wash his hands, even though he didn't technically touch any living creatures.

So Mommy tried:

She was only marginally more successful, and we still had to pry him away from the sink.

SARK!!! FISSSSSSSSSSS!!! SARK SARK SARK!!

I LOVE THE AQUARIUM!!!
The Sea Lions are one of my favorites. I kept dragging Mommy and Daddy back and forth between the Sea Lions and the "SARK" Tank.

Look! FISSSSSSSSSS!!!

Come on, Mommy! I want to see a SARK!
