Another Day, Another Art Project

I love to color, and today I had a fit because I had crayons but no paper. How am I supposed to color without paper??? So Mommy put some out for me.

What happens when I roll the crayon like this??
Oh no! I want my Crayon back!

Thanks, Mommy. Now I can make more art!

I got a hold of a water bottle this morning... and I knew exactly what it was for!

Of course, the cap was on, so I didn't get a drop. :(

What a Difference a Year Makes!

March, 2007:

Robbie for MVP

In preparation for the beginning of the baseball season, Daddy tried to teach me to play baseball today. I was not really sure of what to do.

The ball was the most interesting part. I kept stealing it from the tee so I could play with it.

Field conditions were less than desirable for play, but I still did pretty well.
Mommy demonstrated how to hit the ball with the bat.

But I just wanted to get my hands on the ball.

Look at that slide!

We had a really great time, but it looks like I need more time in the batting cage.

Something's Fishy Around Here

We got a family membership to Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead today. I highly recommend it; if you go more than once, it pays for itself. Robbie LOVED it, and I'm sure we'll make many return visits this summer. They were doing quite a bit of construction outside, and we're hoping everything will be fully up to speed soon!

First we checked out the (stingerless) sting rays.

Then we parked the stroller in front of the sea lion underwater window...

...which was AWESOME!

They had a little educational display with some turtles, which Robbie enjoyed... but he really loved the big shark tank!

First we met a big sting ray up close...

...then some of the big sharks swam by. They have lots of teeth!

Robbie explained to Emily all the fascinating varieties of tropical fish.

Mom rules!

The big octopus was in his tank. Robert was confused when we referred to the octopus having lots of "suckers," because even he knows that sea creatures don't use binkies.

Robert took a few minutes to run around the tanks. He checked out the sharks again...

...and pointed out more fish for Emily...

...before finding a tank that was right at his level.

Robert was ready to move on, but wanted to make sure he had seen everything first.

Mom took Robbie into the bubble in the penguin exhibit! The penguins were all clustered on the rocks, though. (You can see them in the background, on the left.)

So we went around to the other side, where two penguins were checking out the reflection off my watch.

We were getting ready to wrap up and head out for lunch, but Robert wanted to make sure he had completed the entire aquarium, so he asked to see the map.

One more swing past the big tanks...

"Look! Mom & Dad bought me a shark!"
