Robert & The Puzzle, A Film In Two Parts

Robert has really impressive puzzle-completion skills. So I tried to get them on video:

Robert obviously was more interested in the camera. So we tried again, with Mom's help:

It's still not the best video; I'll keep trying.

Sometimes, A Picture Doesn't Even Need A Funny Comment.

Another Trip To Atlantis Marine World

Robert's always up for a trip to the aquarium. (Or, as he says, the "quh.") Really, all he wanted to do this time was check out the sea lions:

He even spent some time working on his sea lion impression. (This one kills 'em in the clubs.)

(Yes, that's drool. He's not proud.)

Trucks!

The house across the street is undergoing some pretty heavy renovation, and Robert was veeeeery impressed by all the trucks! He spent some time Friday morning watching them out the front window with Mom.

And Peanut.

Baby's First Digital Camera

Grandma and Grandpa came down to visit for the holiday, and Grandma let Robert explore the wonderful world of digital photography.

Robert first tried randomly pushing buttons:

Then he realized that he was holding a little TV in his hands:

EXTREME CLOSEUP!

Look out, Peanut! Paparazzi!

Bubbles!

Daddy bought bubble bath! Robert spent a good twenty minutes saying "bubble, bubble, bubble" over and over until he was a bubbly little prune.

Can We Fix It?

Yes we can! We bought a bag of toddler tools at a yard sale this weekend -- three bucks very well spent!

Chores

Well, not "chores," exactly, but Robert does like to help feed Peanut his dinner, and he also likes to help set the table.

He's Got The Whole World In His Hands...

You know? We can never get Robert to look at the camera. And when he finally does, he's wearing his sunglasses. It's like we're the paparazzi or something.

"And He Said, Santa!"

After living on Long Island as long as we have, we've realized a few things. One of those things we've realized is that if you can take advantage of doing things when nobody else has thought of it yet, you can save yourself a lot of time and aggravation. So we decided it was time to get an early word in with the Big Guy. Robert -- and Bobo, once again in matching hats -- weren't too sure at first:

But Smith Haven Mall was all decked out, pending the arrival of the fat man in the red suit!

Quickly, Robert realized something was up.

Robert even wanted to share his excitement with Bobo:

Suddenly, the Big Man arrived:

Robert went over to check it out.

We decided to let another family go first, since Robert quickly became unsure of himself. We watched the other kids speak with Santa:

Then it was our turn. Mom explained to Robert who Santa was, and Robert gave him a high-five:

As hard as we tried, Robert refused to smile. Simply refused.

Although he was unimpressed by his experience with Santa, Mom did explain Robert's Christmas list, and that he had, in fact, been a very good boy. Santa promised he'd do what he could.

On the way out, Robert was more impressed with some fictional characters.

A Boy, His Bear, and Their Matching Hats...

...pooped after a long day.

Re-FORT!

What? The edge of a tropical storm coming through on Saturday, bringing a whole day of wind and rain? Bring out the boxes! This time we expanded a little, adding two extra wall boxes and a blanket roof. Dad's quite the structural engineer.

Dad even cut a window for Bobo!

(And for Robert!)

Both Dad and Peanut enjoyed the fort as well.
