Geneseo, Part VIII
No trip to Geneseo is complete without a trip up to Frontier Field for a Red Wings game:
All kids were given a baseball...
...and all moms were given a flower:
Two former Mets on the hill today. For the Wings, Philip Humber, and for the Bisons, Matt Ginter, warming up here in the outfield before the game:
Daddy took Robert to the team store, where we saw the gorgeous Jennie Finch, world-class softball player (and wife of Wings pitcher Casey Daigle), and picked up a few hats.
And a book:
Spikes finally wandered by, and Robert was thrilled!
Robert was also fascinated with Mittsy, the Wings' other mascot, but refused to high-five her... he would only laugh hysterically. I have no idea why, but it was hilarious.
They had a horse made out of baseball gloves on the concourse:
And a big Spikes-colored eagle:
Back to Mittsy, who still didn't get a high-five, but did get hysterical peals of laughter.
In the team store, Rachel tried on a plush Spikes hat:
Not much of a crowd today -- it was chilly and windy.
But yet the kids needed ice cream anyway!
We went back to see Spikes again, and this time he signed Robert's hat. (However, Robert is positive that he wrote "Bobo.")
I'm a big fan of this:
Dinner at Perkins brought another flower for Mom, and Robert got a really deep sniff.
All in all, a great, great, weekend. But I'm exhausted. Going to be a long drive tomorrow.
