Geneseo, Part VIII

No trip to Geneseo is complete without a trip up to Frontier Field for a Red Wings game:

All kids were given a baseball...

...and all moms were given a flower:

Two former Mets on the hill today. For the Wings, Philip Humber, and for the Bisons, Matt Ginter, warming up here in the outfield before the game:

Daddy took Robert to the team store, where we saw the gorgeous Jennie Finch, world-class softball player (and wife of Wings pitcher Casey Daigle), and picked up a few hats.

And a book:

Spikes finally wandered by, and Robert was thrilled!

Robert was also fascinated with Mittsy, the Wings' other mascot, but refused to high-five her... he would only laugh hysterically. I have no idea why, but it was hilarious.

They had a horse made out of baseball gloves on the concourse:

And a big Spikes-colored eagle:

Back to Mittsy, who still didn't get a high-five, but did get hysterical peals of laughter.

In the team store, Rachel tried on a plush Spikes hat:

Not much of a crowd today -- it was chilly and windy.

But yet the kids needed ice cream anyway!

We went back to see Spikes again, and this time he signed Robert's hat. (However, Robert is positive that he wrote "Bobo.")

I'm a big fan of this:

Dinner at Perkins brought another flower for Mom, and Robert got a really deep sniff.

All in all, a great, great, weekend. But I'm exhausted. Going to be a long drive tomorrow.

Get me to the farm
Get me to the farm
Somebody get me to the farm

On the way to the ballpark for the afternoon, we swung through Great Grandma Place's farm:

Robert enjoyed all the animals, especially the dogs:

And the chickens and turkeys:

And the cows:

Uncle Jim showed Robert how to feed the horses:

And more cows:

Robert loved the tractors too ("More tractor!") but I didn't get any pictures of them.

At the Sunday morning brunch, Robert just wanted to run... and run he did, all over the Union Ballroom:

He made fast friends with Scott Guzielek, who in his day job is the Artistic Administration Manager for the National Opera in DC, but this morning, was Chief Robert Chaser.

Chamber Singers past (and future?) one more time:

Robert enjoyed the weird space pod benches in the lobby:

Enjoying the view of the valley:

Robert had to show Mommy the Sturges "clock sound"!

He was, after all this... completely exhausted.

But never too exhausted to enjoy the carillon:

Hangin' with Grandma on Mother's Day morning, after Robert moved all of the little ceramic houses from the living room shelf to the kitchen floor:

As hard as Robert tries, he's just not tall enough for the footrest.

Saturday evening found everyone geared up for the big reunion banquet and concert. Before we left, Robert took a quick photo with Mom:

And then Mom took a photo with all the other Moms (and Shanna):

Jeannine proudly displays her Chamber Singers wine goblet:

Emily and her mom, both proud Chamber Singers alumnae:

Chris and Dave, both proud Activities Commission alumni. (History will note that Dave and I totally got hit on by college girls at the bar Friday night.)

Finally it was up to Wadsworth Auditorium for the big show. After a nice performance by the current group, the 130+ alumni joined them on stage for three more songs.

Can you find Emily and Lizz in this photo? (Answers below.)

Feel free to click on the picture below to locate all the late-90's Chamber Singers I could find:

Lots of tears of joy after the performance. Aunt Tablebutt and Uncle Butterfly:

Emily and Doc:

Matt, Jim, Trudi, and Ben:

Bill Edwards, aka Musician 1st Class William F. Edwards, baritone vocalist for the United States Navy Band’s “Sea Chanters” chorus in Washington, D.C., holds court with a couple of his biggest fans:

Jeannine and Mike d'Estries, proud future parents, with conductor Jerry Floriano at Club 41 after the show:

Jim and Emily:

The gang.
